Fatal Beauty
I’ve painted the leaves of the paperbark tree. Personally I’ve used the paperbark for artwork and also for cooking and carrying things. The spray of golden dust on the leaves hides an ominous story.
Paperbarks and other Myrtaceae species have an important place in the landscape of this country which has a knock on effect with flora and fauna. They are being threatened by this fatal beauty that is called Myrtle Rust.
